Question:

i am using OpenX adserver tool for my site. i want to set the time of display for every banners.

Answer:

we can customize for this requirement.

Allows toggling of banners using a single invocation code.

In OpenX an invocation code will display only a single banner, but by using this mod, you can display two banners in one zone.

The administrator can set time for which a single banner should be displayed.

The probability of clicking the banner by the user will increase, which is an advantage for the publisher and the administrator.

country targetting for banners

i have used openx for my site. my banner will be display only some countries. how can do this?

Answer:

Do you want to display your banners only to your target customer? Then here is a mod to help you out.

If you have registered user with his country / continent then, using this mod you can display your banners to the users belonging to a specific country / continent.

Also, if you have country / continent wise pages in your site, then this mod will display the banners according to specified country / continent.

Here the advertiser can choose the delivery limitation where he/she wants to display his/her banners.

From the banner properties the advertiser can choose a specific country / continent.

check box in the login page, asking “Remember my password”.

Question:

i have used openx for my site. i cannot see “Remember my password” in the my login page. can you help me how to activate “remember my password” in my login page?

Answer:

Remember my password option is not there in OpenX functionality. we can do this functionality for openx.

The user should enter the user name and password only for the first time. After entering it, he/she should click the check box “Remember my password”. Then can login to the page, by clicking on the login button.

By doing this, your user name and password will be automatically stored in the administrator, advertiser, publisher, or agency account, related to your account.

For more login’s, you need to give only the user name. Your password will automatically be entered in the text box and you can login.

The mod will also display a “Forget password” link in the login page, using which, the user can get another password if he forgets the existing one.

what is OpenX Vs Google ad manager

Question:

I would like to get feedback from webmasters who have used Google Ad Manager and OpenX, would like to know which one they prefer and why?

Answer:

Both of these have the advantages of serving not only your own banner ads (from sponsors or advertisers) as well as AdSense or other banners – based on geographical location.

I guess the advantage of Google Ad Manager is that the system is all controlled by Google – so I don’t have to worry about maintaining and updating any other scripts or packages on my web server.

However, the disadvantage could be that as Google get further into banner ads and online advertising, people will start to use Ad blockers against them. I don’t want my paying advertisers to potentially be blocked. we need to pay for google admanager for using the adsense. but, no need to pay for openx. all admin control with us. so openx is best tool for the online advertiser.

Generate geo report in OpenX

can we be able to create geo report as per advertiser requirements on campaign side.

Answer:

Currently, we don’t have any geo targeting functionality in openx as openx does not know user profile data. we need to some customization in openx code. You can do this by geo targeting in openx but it wont give good UI in campaign side.

Helps to display the ads to users belonging to specific country / continent.

Will provide instant results.

Very useful for the advertiser to cover his target group alone.

Very simple to install and user friendly.

Targeting ads by user profilie on campaign side

Question:

can we be able to select any or all of the below filters as per advertiser requirements on campaign side.

a. Age
b. Gender
c. Location (state, city)
d. Industry (predefined list eg, accounting, arts, it, finance etc)
e. Interest (predefined list eg, movies, music, health, sports etc)
f. Keyword tagging (predefined length which can contain a string of tags passed by publisher)
g. Relationship status (predefined list eg, married, single, etc).

Answer:

Currently, we don’t have any above targeting functionality in openx as openx does not know user profile data. It requires some customization. You can do this by variable targeting in openx but it wont give good UI in campaign side. You can refer below mods which allow to targeting by user profile

I am looking to produce many sites in order to generate clickthrough add revenues such as adsense… I have researched many domainers/bloggers..but a very beginner..I built 20 sites in blogger in a day..looking for a more efficient way or quicker way..as well as to make numerous non-english sites and looking to generate ad revenue… I have read of several that have 10-300 thousand sites in this nature..this is what I am attempting to do..

It’s possible to earn money by purchasing thousand sites and displaying banners (advertisements).

Those sites can be blogs sites, discussion forums, social community sites etc..,

XML RPC invocation code for openx

Question:

the advertiser should be able to upload his graphics/ad details and manage the ads by day-part, location, coupon text/graphics/flash (auto-customized by location based on XML information from phone) e.g. welcome to New York Time\’s Square Starbucks! come in for 30% off a large coffee — the location and coupon details should be reflective of the location received from the phone — advertiser should have ability to set these parameters and to view ads via Google map API, and other reporting (day-part) We will need to keep track of all the Data & Request, we need to create MIS (Management Information System) that takes care of the same. OpenX website will be for advertisers / users to log in… to setup there accounts… advertisement the data will be saved in server database… webservices will pull that data and prase in xml We will need the site to integrate with google checkout & paypal. Advertisers will set daily budget and account will automatically refill every 24 hrs when daily budget has diminished.

Answer:

Openx is already providing Xml RPC type of invocation code and managing ads can be done in openx called targeting it’s a customized feature that will target ads what ever way you want like age , sex, profile, location etc,
