Question:
I’m interested in connecting with a developer who’s very familiar with OpenX to help us with some OpenX questions. We use OpenX 2.6 to serve ads into email signatures.
One near-term question:
When we are redirecting a 3rd party tag, we are seeing a huge discrepancy between the # of impressions reported by our OpenX vs. the 3rd party’s server. Our OpenX shows a dramatically lower number of impressions than the 3rd party server does. The discrepancy we’re seeing is that the 3rd party server is showing over 2X higher the number of impressions than our OpenX shows, much greater than the 10-15% OpenX says may occur with integrating 3rd party tags.
I don’t believe we have any setting stored for our OpenX to strip out non-unique impressions (we don’t even know where that is available). I know you provide a module to do the opposite, namely drill down to count only unique impressions and clicks, but I am hoping your familiarity with the auditing of OpenX can help us dig into our counting discrepancy.
Answer:
As you told that OpenX clicks are not matching with third party ads clicks. This can be happen because of mis-match of way for tracking impressions and clicks between OpenX and third party ads.

Still if you are using any third party ads which allow other software to track clicks (like using clickTag variable or anything), we can customize ad code to track click of third party so there wont be any mismatch in stats.
There is a mod which can give you count of unique impressions and clicks. This can help you to get exact unique users who have visited your site and clicked banners.

Please give us name of third party whose ads you are displaying in sites through OpenX so we can give you more details about that. Anyway, above mod can get unique users which can help to assume stats of ads performance.
