Linking Zone for Campaign

Question:

I’m trying to create a new zone for an campaign. I’ve followed the openx video but get stuck on the part where it talks about copying the inventory into the web site html as I don’t seem to get the page to allow me to do that?
Anyone help?

Answer:

We can’t create zone for particular campaign. We can link that campaign to that zone easily.

First you  need to create website , Under that website  you can create number of zones. from this you can link your  particular campaign to zones.

To create zone, follow this,

Just login as admin and switch to default manager account, In that click on the “Inventory” menu tab , Then click on “Website ” option tab.

After the creation of Website , in that page itself there is one option available “Add New Zone”, just click on that you can create number of zones.

After creation of the zone, in that page itself there is one option available “linked banners”, just click on that you can redirect another page, In there you need to select “link banners from parent campaign”. Then under that you can select advertiser and campaign to link for that zone.

Adbrite clone using OpenX !!

Question
Hello, I want to make Adbrite clone (having functionality same as adbrite). Is it possible to make it from OpenX?

I want mainly below functionality.

1) Advertiser Functionality

  • Advertiser can bid on zone on selected zone.
  • Full page ads, inline ads

2)Publisher Functionality

  • Publisher can create zone, set color, type of zone
  • Default banner with min eCPM

3) Site Directory

4) Referral System

Answer

  • Yes, adbrite has number of unique functionality like inline ads, full page ads. Currently OpenX is not supporting this by default but we can customize OpenX and can implement this functionality.
  • If you want to make site like adbrite then we cant use OpenX default template/UI as both has many differences so we need to make new UI having adbrite functionality using OpenX as backend.
  • We can make new advertiser signup, creating banner, Publisher Signup, creating zone, statistics for adv/pub, payment system for adv/pub.
  • Also, we can have site directory and referral system.

Managing ads by advertiser

Question :

The advertiser should be able to upload his graphics/ad details and manage the ads by day-part, location, coupon text/graphics/flash (auto-customized by location based on XML information from phone) e.g. welcome to New York Time\’s Square Starbucks! come in for 30% off a large coffee — the location and coupon details should be reflective of the location received from the phone — advertiser should have ability to set these parameters and to view ads via Google map API, and other reporting (day-part) We will need to keep track of all the Data & Request, we need to create MIS (Management Information System) that takes care of the same. OpenX website will be for advertisers / users to log in… to setup there accounts… advertisement the data will be saved in server database… webservices will pull that data and prase in xml We will need the site to integrate with google checkout & paypal. Advertisers will set daily budget and account will automatically refill every 24 hrs when daily budget has diminished.

Openx is already providing Xml RPC type of invocation code, managing ads can be done in openx called targeting it’s a customized feature , so that it will target ads what ever way you want like age , sex, profile, location etc,

offer a CPC model

Question :

can we create a directory listing for companies in the reverse mortgage business and would like to offer a CPC model ?

Answer:

I think you may already have site which displays list of companies in the reverse mortgage business or you may want to create a site.

In this site, you want to display ads in some target based it may be company targeted ads or country/city targeted ads

As of now this targeting ads is not present in openx so we can able to do this by writing customized plugins

We will make new plug-in which will generate target based invocation code from this we can able to target ads as you want for any city, country, company pages.

And we can give UI to advertiser where he can select his targeted pages of directory site and he can display his banners in CPC model.

OpenX theme

Question:

I want to change my openx theme. Is it having any option in openx?. or can you create new theme for my openx?

Answer:

This feature is not available in the openx. If you want to change your theme, then we can customize your openx.
This theme enables you to change the user interface color.
By having this theme you can change color of header, tab, background.
Once the theme is applied it is reflected in all pages of the site.
It allows the users to select their own theme.
The main thing in this mod is you can have your own interested theme color.
you can change the color of Openx UI.
It is useful when you feel boredom by Openx UI color.

Openx affiliate network system

Question:

Does OpenX provide the funcionality of affiliate network out of the box. If no what can you What I need is the functionality of an affiliate network system but with heavy customization.The main modules Affiliate/Publisher, Merchant/Advertiser, Admin and Tracking module will be similar but no advertisements/programs will be needed. Of course the general flow of clicking on a link directing to The affiliate server and then redirecting to the merchant will exist including collecting payment and distributing them to affiliates.

Yes, OpenX has Affiliate (Publisher), Merchant (Advertiser), Admin and tracking module and we can use it as basic affiliate network for your
requirements.
As you know, Affiliates network will have many unique functionality which openx doent have. for this, we need to customize OpenX to make as affiliate network.

The advertiser can register himself using this special mod.

This requires only few informations from the user before registering.

After registering, the advertiser can login using their user name and password

Advertiser can self register, edit etc…It collects few specific informations
about the advertiser.

It is very easy to work with and very useful to the advertiser.

Niche Adnetwork for Bloggers

Question:

I want to setup a niche ad network for bloggers.

Which of your mods do I need to make this all a self serve service for the blogger and the advertiser? Please can you give me a proposal of the mods required (PayPal Payment, Reporting, etc.) to offer a efficient solution for both.

Also I woul like to know how much time would it take to cutomize the UI to get a more corp. ID and to change the standard UI of OpenX?

This all should compliment the goal to help bloggers to make the best deal by monetize their ad invenory.

I think you wants existing blogger or blogger who register with your site (may be wordpress) should use their username and password to check their earnings, right? So, we have to integrate wordpress and OpenX (for same session, or say same username and password for both application).

URL Report of Ads

Question:

How do display ads link in report page?. how to do that?

Do you want ad link in your report page?. correct. ok, we can do this functionality. this functionality is not having in openx. We have developed one plugins for this.
The Link will be displayed in the statistics page to report.
Clicking on the link you will have a pop up with the records of the URL and the impressions in that URL.
The report can be viewed for the particular period similar to the statistics.
